Edith Piaf and Django Reinhardt
Don’t know what it is about this photo that moves me. Edith Piaf and Django Reinhardt sitting for a portrait no doubt but they both seem miles away, absorbed in the intimacy of touch. She is reading his palm and as I lacerated my own right hand in a fit of rage last night and ended up in urgent care, I am particularly sensitive to the fragility of my body and indeed my life…

I would like to make a correction. She is not reading his palm, this photo was flipped, she’s looking at his left hand which is the hand he paralyzed. See how the pinky and ring fingers are bent? She’s examining the paralyzed fingers.

Sorry, I don’t. But click the ‘via’ link above to the blog I found it on and maybe they can point you in the right direction…
Good luck!

Is it possible to find this photo in a good resolution ? We´re doing a documentary about gypsy swing here in Norway, and absolutely need this picture, it´s a fantastic one. Do you have a reference for me by any chance ?
Thanks anyway.
